Non Union Contractor Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter, Pays Full Restitution to Workers

SSC High Rise Inc. has pled guilty to manslaughter in the second degree for causing the death of construction worker Juan Chonillo, paid $842,000 in restitution for wage theft and was assessed a $10,000 corporate fine - the maximum penalty under New York Law.

Inside Construction BTEA Week in Review

BTEA Accompanies Governor Cuomo to Puerto Rico

BTEA Members were part of teams going to Toa Baja, La Playita and Catano for site visits. The effort is being conducted with local and New York State nonprofits, BCTC Labor and SUNY/NYU volunteers. CUNY is scheduled to send 500 student volunteers in June to assist in the effort.
