Safety First: A Core Value, Not Just a Slogan
At Atlantic, safety isn't just a priority, it's the foundation upon which everything else is built. With a zero-accident record for the past three years, Atlantic leads by example. This commitment extends beyond the office walls. Atlantic understands that larger projects require experience modification ratings (EMR), further demonstrating their commitment to safe working conditions before securing contracts.
Building a Culture of Safety
Atlantic fosters a culture of safety that permeates every level of the organization. This is achieved through a multi-pronged approach:
- Daily Safety Audits: Foremen conduct daily safety audits to identify and address any potential hazards on the job site.
- Weekly Toolbox Talks: Foremen hold weekly toolbox talks to educate crews on specific safety topics provided by corporate headquarters, ensuring consistent and up-to-date safety knowledge.
- Comprehensive PPE: Atlantic provides all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on every job site, exceeding industry standards and demonstrating their commitment to worker safety, regardless of specific GC requirements.
- Local Union Certifications: Atlantic prioritizes safety by ensuring all workers on high-profile job sites possess the Local 12 NYC SST Card, encompassing OSHA 30, Drug and Alcohol testing, Fall Protection training, and Sexual Harassment awareness – a total of 40 hours of safety training.
Safety = Performance
This commitment to safety extends beyond compliance. It fosters a positive work environment where employees feel valued and protected. This translates into a more reliable and productive workforce. Atlantic prioritizes safety because they know that employees who feel safe perform better.
Expertise Recognized: The IMAC Competition
Atlantic's dedication to safety and excellence doesn't go unnoticed. Recently, Juan Carlos Marine, a member of the Atlantic team, won the IMAC (Insulation Mechanics Association Championship) for the entire Northeast region, further solidifying Atlantic's position as an industry leader and commitment to providing opportunities for their team.
