Union Hours Worked by ICA Contractors

The hard work and dedication of ICA member companies are reflected not only in their projects but also in the number of union hours contributed. In 2024, ICA contractors reported a total of over half a million hours worked across 19 contracting companies—a strong demonstration of the association’s impact on the New York construction industry.

Preliminary reports for 2025 suggest that hours worked will continue to demonstrate consistency in both commercial and residential projects. This increase underscores the expanding role of ICA contractors in building energy-efficient, sustainable, and safe construction projects throughout the state. Tracking these hours helps the ICA and its members quantify the value and contribution of skilled union labor while reinforcing the importance of training, workforce development, and industry standards.

Scholarships Awarded in 2025 – $15,000

In 2025, the ICA continued its commitment to supporting the next generation by awarding three $5,000 scholarships through its annual ICA Scholarship Program. Now in its sixth year, the program has awarded a total of 24 scholarships, an impressive $75,000 investment in the children and grandchildren of ICA and Local 12 members.

This year’s recipients Justin Zizza (University of South Carolina), Daniel DeBetta (Endicott College), and Ryan Rivera (Farmingdale State College), reflect the program’s mission to uplift hardworking, service-minded, and high-achieving students. Representing diverse fields from finance to nursing, they embody leadership, perseverance, and community impact, the values that define ICA’s legacy. ICA is proud to celebrate their accomplishments and remains committed to empowering future scholars.
